Peanut Butter has long been a staple for most families, but the store bought stuff is loaded with extra salt & sugar and often overloaded with extra oil.

Seed & Nut Butters can be tricky to make as they need patience and a food processor that won’t break if it gets too hot!

I tried a blender, the Blendtec high power blender and a Bullet blender but the old fashioned ‘S’ blade is the best and worth investing in if you want to taste heavenly seed & nut butters as a daily treat!

The health benefits of Seed Butters

Seeds like Sunflower and Pumpkin seeds are literally loaded with Omega Oils, minerals and vitamins and unlike peanut butter – way lower in saturated fat of the bad kind and loaded with unsaturated fats of the good kind. Fats like Coconut Oil had bad press when it was suggested they are full of saturated fat, but not all saturated fat is bad for you, especially when not processed at heat or in packaged foods.

Obviously all fat is higher in calories than non fat foods, so don’t go eating 5 jars in an afternoon, but used as a dipping sauce or a teaspoon a day can work wonders for your skin, bones, immunity & energy
